Achievements

 

Strategic Planning and Project Creation:

• Co-created the Green Star Schools Program with the Green Schools Initiative, helping to reduce the environmental footprint with Berkeley Unified schools.

• Created the Nature's Voices Project, helping to empower youth to tell their inspiring stories about the environmental education programs they are participating in

• Created the Y-Bike program, a bicycle education program in San Francisco

• Created the Climate Challenges, Climate Solutions internship program for Berkeley High School youth

• Designed and implement an after school environmental awareness and urban homesteading program in Albany schools

 

Fundraising

• Raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various environmental education programs, including the Hostel Adventure Program, Green Schools Initiative, Nature's Voices Project.

• Organized creative fundraising events, including a piano concert with George Winston and bicycle ride with Hostelling International.

 

Curriculum Development

• Wrote standards-based Teachers Guides for the River Parkway Trust, Hostel Adventure Program and Safe Routes to Schools program.

 

Teaching:

• Taught rural Costa Rican children about the rainforest and local environmental issues

• Bilingual elementary school teacher in San Francisco and Redwood City schools.

• Exposed thousands of Bay Area K-12 grade students to the wonders of nature through the Hostel Adventure Program.

• Taught hundreds of students about walking and bicycle safety through the Y-Bike and Safe Routes to Schools programs.
